The private sector in Peru is primarily made up of MSMEs, which represent 95% of businesses according to the National Institute of Statistics (INEI). However, only 39% have formal financial services, and 28% use informal financing methods. This explains the significant limitations faced by MSMEs in accessing loans or financing in the central jungle, particularly in the province of Satipo. In the Junín Central Jungle, in the province of Satipo, the vast majority of MSMEs dedicated to citrus fruit production lack the financing needed to start with liquidity and grow sustainably. Several factors exist, such as financial institutions' classification as high-credit-risk companies and a high level of informality, which prevents them from obtaining credit or financing for their production improvement processes and obtaining machinery or equipment. Therefore, this work, based on a scientific study, determines the importance of financing MSMEs dedicated to citrus fruit production, so that they can grow and contribute to the development of the economy in this part of Peru.
