This book is structured as an analytical journey that begins with the theoretical foundations of power and social control, moves through a detailed examination of its empirical manifestation in southern Peru, and culminates in a series of final reflections that seek not only to synthesize the findings but also to propose new avenues for understanding and reforming justice systems in the region. The ultimate objective of this work is none other than to contribute, from a critical and situated perspective, to the urgent debate on building a more just, democratic, and, above all, humane security.
