Administration Studies as a scientific discipline
Keywords:
public administrationSynopsis
Public administration is a fundamental discipline for the functioning of contemporary societies, as it deals with the efficient and equitable management of State resources and services. Over the years, studies in this field have evolved, driven by the need to adapt to the political, economic and social changes that mark the course of history. Public administration not only faces the challenge of ensuring common welfare, but also interacts and draws on various areas of knowledge, from economics to political science, through sociology, ethics and law.
This book brings together a series of investigations that explore the role of public administration, not only as an essential function of the State, but also as a dynamic influence on other disciplines. Through the works presented here, we seek to understand how administrative practices and theories affect other fields, such as political decision-making, public policy formulation, human resource management in public sector organizations, and the impact of bureaucracy on government efficiency. It also examines how the globalized environment, technological advances, and new demands from citizens generate transformations that require constant innovation and adaptation in administrative processes.
Throughout this journey, the aim is to provide a comprehensive view of how the theories and practices of public administration are intertwined with other areas of knowledge, generating an interdisciplinary field of study that, beyond its practical application, constitutes a constant reflection on the nature of the State, social justice, governance, and the common good. The research presented in this book constitutes a valuable contribution to understanding public administration as an essential element in the construction and sustainability of modern democracies and its interactions with other branches of knowledge.
