Synopsis

Economic activities allow the creation of final products for human consumption. People use these products for different purposes in their daily lives and once used they are eliminated or discarded. Thus, the final products and their accumulation cause problems such as environmental pollution, especially when there is no administrative planning to avoid the accumulation of solid waste or to carry out environmental tasks such as recycling.
However, it should be noted that environmental pollution is a product of the economic activities of people in search of their social and human development. Therefore, environmental sustainability practices are seen as a way of obtaining economic resources from nature without causing incidental and harmful pollution for future generations. To achieve this, public environmental policies are needed to establish institutional responsibilities and methods of action for the conservation, care and recovery of natural environments affected by environmental pollution resulting from economic activities. In this sense, this book evaluates the way in which the District Municipality of El Eslabón (Peru) assumed its role in the management of the La Punta Landfill during the period 2019-2021 within the framework of the right to a healthy environment.
