Synopsis

There are multiple teaching-learning methods that are used in university environments, which vary depending on the class or subject where the student is. In subjects such as Physics and Mathematics, the laboratory method seems to be a relevant pedagogical methodology because it encourages the development of students' skills and knowledge such as freedom, cooperation and individuality in learning. This method is characterized by encouraging the active participation of students due to the interaction between them with their classmates and with their teacher. Likewise, in the laboratory method it is possible to develop the appropriate educational levels for students in terms of academic skills. With the laboratory method, student learning is motivated in terms of the ability to reflect on the interpretation of data.
Using this method, it is possible to teach and apply knowledge of physics and mathematics such as the mechanics of solids, since this is an area of physical science that is difficult to understand and understand only with theoretical content. This is how the laboratory method allows didactic teaching-learning where materials and tools are used with which students can interact and share experiences within an environment conducive to the understanding of theoretical concepts that are complicated to assimilate only through books. Given this, it is pertinent to study the advantages of the laboratory method to help students in the study of fluid mechanics, which is the purpose of this work.
